Oxytropis crassiuscula A.Boriss. in Not. Syst. Herb. Inst.Bot.Acad. Sci.URSS. 7:237.t.2. 1938. Vassilczenko & Fedtschenko in Komarov, Fl.URSS.13 :163.1948.

Perennial herb, root-stock woody. Aerial stem almost absent. Stipules imbricate, densely villous. Leaf c. 2-5 cm long, petiole c. 1-3 cm long; leaflets 6-18, sessile, c. 3-8 mm long, c. 1-4 mm broad, elliptic to ovate, entire, acute, densely pilose on both sides, hairs white or yellowish. Flowers in peduncled heads, peduncle c. 2-13 cm long; bracts c. 2 mm long. Calyx c. 4 mm long, teeth c. 2 mm long, densely pilose. Vexillum c. 6-7 mm long; wing c. 5-6 mm long, emarginate at the tip; keel c. 5 mm long (including the mucro), mucro less than 1 mm. Ovary stipitate, pilose, stipe c. 1 mm long. Pod not seen. Borissova (l.c.) has described it as ‘5-7 mm long, 2-3 mm broad, densely villous’.

Fl.Per.: June-August.

Holotype: Pamir occidentalis, in valle fl.Matz, 20.6.1914, Tuturin et Bessedin 31.0 (LE-not seen).

Distribution: Pakistan (Chitral); Russia (Pamir Alai) (Vassilczenko & Fedtschenko l.c.).
