Astragalus coluteocarpus var. coluteocarpus

Perennial, stem 40-120 cm long, glabrous. Leaves imparipinnately compound, c. 10-25 cm long, leaflets 11-15, lateral leaflets opposite, oval-orbicular, obtuse or slightly retuse, mucronulate, pubescent on both sides; stipules broadly ovate to lanceolate, c. 1 cm long. Inflorescence a 5-20-flowered axillary peduncled raceme, peduncle c. 7-14 cm long; bracts c. 4-7 mm long. Calyx c. 7-10 mm long, sparsely pubescent, hairs black, teeth 4.5-5.0 mm long. Corolla yellowish. Vexillum c. 14-18 mm long. Wing shorter than the vexillum. Keel c. 11-12 mm long. Fruit c. 1.5-2.0 cm long, c. 5-8 mm in diameter, pointed at both ends; stipe c. 7.5-10 mm long.

Distribution: Pakistan (N.W.F. Province); Kashmir; Afghanistan; India (N. Punjab).
