Astragalus scorpiurus var. scorpiurus

Prostrate herb, stem radially branched from the base, branches pubescent, hairs white. Leaf imparipinnately compound, petiole c. 4-6 mm long, pubescent, rachis c. 12-50 mm long, pubescent; leaflets 11-19, c. 3.5-12 mm long, c. 2-4 mm broad, ovate, elliptic, acute to subacute, glabrous above, pubescent below; stipules c. 1.5-2.0 mm long. Inflorescence an axillary pedunculate raceme, peduncle c. 2-5.0 cm long, pubescent. Bracts c. 1.5 mm long. Pedicel c. 1 mm long, white pilose. Calyx c. 4 mm long, pubescent, teeth c. 2.5 mm long. Corolla bright pink, red. Vexillum c. 9-12 mm long. Wing and keel smaller. Fruit c. 12-20 mm long, pubescent, almost completely bilocular, 14-24-seeded.

Distribution: Pakistan, (Punjab, N.W.F. Province, Baluchistan); Afghanistan.
