Astragalus hauarensis var. hauarensis

Annual prostrate herb, many branches from the base; densely hirsute. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 2.5-10.0 cm long, leaflets 5-9, c. 5-12 mm long, c. 2-5 mm broad, elliptic-oblong to broadly elliptic, truncate to retuse, pubescent on both sides; stipules c. 2-4 mm long. Inflorescence an axillary, pedunculate 3-5-flowered raceme, peduncle c. 9-12 mm long. Bracts c. 1.5 mm long, pubescent. Pedicel c. 1.5 mm long, pubescent. Calyx c. 4.5 mm long, hirsute, teeth c. 2.5 mm long. Vexillum c. 6 mm long. Fruit c. 1.5-3.0 cm long, c. 3 mm broad, semicircular, pubescent, hairs short appressed and long spreading, almost bilocular, 12-20-seeded.

Type: Habitat in deserto sinaitico ad Haura Ras Hammam, Schimper No. 189, Legi quoque in Arabia petraea Martio 1847.

Distribution: Pakistan (Baluchistan); Afghanistan, Persia; Arabia; Egypt; Israel.
