Perennial. Root woody. Stem reduced, pubescent, hairs short, spreading, white. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 6-11 cm long, petiole and rachis densely hispid-villous; leaflets c. 7-13, c. 7-18 mm long, c. 3.5-8.0 mm broad, elliptic to obovate or oblong-obovate, subobtuse, rarely subacute, villous-lanate and canescent on both the sides. Inflorescence pedunculate dense raceme; peduncle c. 0.6-2.2 cm long, densely pubescent, hairs short, spreading. Bracts c. 7-12 mm, pilose, hairs spreading. Fruiting calyx c. 17-22 mm long, ovoid, hirsute-villous, teeth c. 5-9 mm long. Corolla pinkish violet. Vexillum c. 20-27 mm long. Wing 20-27 mm long. Fruit subsessile, c. 8-12 mm long, c. 3.5-4 mm broad, pubescent, hairs long, white, sub-biolcular.

Holotype: Tien Shan, Managildui to Alabugi, 4.6.1880, 6000-7000 ft, A. Regel 477 (LE-not seen).

Distribution: Kashmir; Russia, Tien Shan, Pamir Alai (Gontscharov & Popov l.c.).
