Panicum plenum Hitchc. & Chase in Contr. U.S. natn. Herb. 15:80. 1910. is a North American species also grown at Tandojam (J.J. Norris 164 (K) and likewise has apparently not become naturalised. It closely resembles Panicum maximum, differing only in its glabrous nodes and shorter ligules.
