 Reaumuria gabrielae  Bornm.
Annual prostrate-suberect herb with a woody root stock, profusely branched from the base, entirely glabrous. Leaves alternate, sessile, entire, somewhat succulent, rarely very scarcely hairy at the margin, linear-subcylindrical, 10-20 (-25) mm long, 1-1.5 (-2.5) mm broad with non-attenuate bases, obtuse, imperignated with salt glands. Flowers axillary and terminal racemosely arranged with 5-15 mm long peduncle, 10-15 mm long, pink or purplish pink. Bracts foliaceous, shorter than or equalling calyx. Calyx deeply 5 partite, lobes broader at the base, somewhat tapering at the apex, 8-11 mm long, 1-2 mm broad, obtuse, very minutely laciniate at the margin. Petals 5, free, broadly linear spathulate, 9-12 mm long, 2-4 mm broad, notched on one side, appendages linear-entire, c. 3 mm long. Stamens numerous-united mostly into 5 phalanges, filaments 5-6 mm long, dilated at the base, anthers oblong, c. 1 mm long. Ovary somewhat globose-ovate, somewhat acute at the apex, enclosed by persistent calyx, 8-12 mm long, 5-8 mm broad, dehiscing by 5 longitudinal valves, brownish.
