14a. Geranium rectum var. glabrata Trautv., l.c.

The variety resembles Geranium rubifolium from which it differs in the slender habit, appressed pubescent pedicels and peduncle (rarely glandular), the more or less membranous leaves with a deeper and irregularly divided segments. The sepal awn is shorter (2-3) mm. Stipules rarely 2-fid.

Type: USSR: Baskan Vy., Ala-Tau., Dzungaria (LE).

Distribution: Soviet C. Asia, N.W. Himalaya.

Our plant differs from the description given by Edgeworth and J.D. Hooker as follows: stems not very slender and sepals are not long awned.
