Annual, 20-50 cm tall, erect to suberect, branched, hispid. Leaves hirsute, 4-6 x 0.5-2 cm, lanceolate to oval, sessile to petiolate, margin crenate to dentate. Calyx segments triangular to lanceolate. Corolla c. 1 cm long, campanulate, purple to light purple, hairy outside, lobes short. Style included. Capasule hirsute, globose to ovate, dehiscing at the base.

Type: Nepal, Wallich (BM).
Distribution: Afghanistan; mountainous regions & foothills of northern Pakistan.
