  • Lonicera hispida*

    Erect shrubs with glabrous branches. Leaves c. 4 x 1.5 cm, elliptic-oblong, rounded at the base, glabrous to glaucescent on both surfaces, ciliate. Flowers in pairs on axillary peduncles. Bracts large, ovate, up to 1.5 cm long, glabrous, glaucous on both surfaces, ciliate. Bracteoles absent Calyx limb minute or absent Corolla c. 1.5 cm long, funnel-shaped, glabrous without, hairy within, lobes about half as long as corolla, tube erect; tube narrow at the base, strongly gibbous. Stamens 5; filaments hairy, exserted. Ovary glabrous, style exserted, hairy. Berries c. 7 mm long, ovoid, glabrous, not confluent.

    Syntypes: Kashmir: Sind valley, Duthie 11598 (K); Tilail, 3300 m, C. B. Clarke 30775 (K).

    Distribution: Pakistan Himalaya, Kashmir & Tibet.

    Usually found above 3000 m.
