Heliotropium marifolium var. wallichii Clarke
Prostrate to compact decumbent perennial, branched, branches sp up to 10 cm long, appressed hairy. Leaves subsessile, 4-8(-20) x 1.5-3(-5) mm, lanceolate to elliptic, appressed hairy on both surfaces; midrib impressed above. Inflorescence 2–4 cm long, bearing biseriate to bracteate flowers; bracts 1.5-4 mm long, lanceolate. Calyx 2 mm long, 5-partite into lanceolate lobes, hispid. Corolla white, slightly exceeding calyx, hairy to the outside, pilose at the throat within; lobes 0.8 mm long, ± obtuse, erect. Anthers 0.6 mm long, lanceolae, sub-sessile, attached c. 0.6 mm from base of corolla tube. Stigma c. 0.5 mm long, conical, stigmatic ring quite prominent. Style shorter. Fruit globose-depressed, lobed, hairy. Nutlets ovoid in outline, c. 1.5 mm long, appressed hairy, brownish.

Distribution: Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka.
The subspecies differs from the type subsp. marifolium in the prostrate and smaller habit, smaller and narrower leaves which are densely hairy and fruit which is densely hairy.
