3. Pseudomertensia trollii (Melchior) Stewart & Kazmi in J. Arn. Arb. 51(3): 369. 1970.

Perennial resembling Pseudomertensia parviflora, but differing in the larger corolla which clearly exceeds the calyx. The corolla lobes are oblong and larger (2.3 mm long).

A variable species as regards the length of flowers parts. Three varieties occur in Pakistan.

1 Corolla tube 8-11 mm long, exceeding the calyx length   3 Pseudomertensia trollii var. edelbergii
+ Corolla tube 6-8 mm long, ± equalling the calyx length   (2)
       
2 (1) Corolla with poorly developed throat soales. Anthers c. 1.5 mm long; filaments 1.5-2 mm long   3 Pseudomertensia trollii var. harrissii
+ Corolla with throat scales well-developed. Anthers c. 1 mm long; filaments more than 3.5 mm long   3 Pseudomertensia trollii var. trollii
