YASIN J. NASIR
Eritrichium fruticulosum KlotzschEritrichium strictum var. fruticulosum (Klotzsch), C.B. Clarke
An erect to decumbent perennial, stems slender, usually sparsely pubescent with appressed-hairs. Cauline leaves ± petiolate. Nutlets c. 1.5 x 1 mm. Outer surface convex or ± rugose, inner surface glabrous; appendages 0.2 x 0.1 mm, bases not united.
Fl. Per.: July-August.
Type: Himalaya, Hoffmeister s.n. (HEID).
Distribution: Baluchistan, Gilgit eastward to Ladak.
I agree with Clarke (l.c.) in considering this taxon as a mere variety of A. canum (=A. strictum) from which it differs in the petiolate leaves and smaller appendages of the nutlet. Found from 2400-3000 m.
