Annual or? biennials up to 3 cm tall. Stem(-s) solitary or many, branched. Stem and branches appressed pubescent, the hairs arising from tuberculate base. Basal leaves 15-35 x 3-7 mm, ± petiolate, sometimes distinctly so, covered on both surfaces with appressed hairs arising from a tuberculate base. Cauline leaves sessile, smaller. Inflorescence lax. Pedicels c. 2 mm long, up to 16 mm in fruit. Calyx lobes c. 1.5 mm, linear to ovate-oblong, up to 3.5 mm in fruit. Corolla blue, 2-3 mm long. Nutlets ± globose, 2.5-4 mm broad, margin broadly winged with a small to large aperture, papillose, inner margin lobed denticulate or pubescent; middle dorsal area smooth or with glochidiate appendages.
A very variable and polymorphic species as regards the plant size, leaves, pedicel length and fruit characters. Represented in Pakistan by 2 varieties.
