Euphorbia jacquemontii var. lasiocarpa Boiss., 1.c. 1866. Hook. f., op. cit.: 259. 1887; Stewart, l.c. 1972.
A. RADCLIFFE-SMITH
Very like Euphorbia wallichii but with a less stout woody stock, shorter often reddish-tinged stem-leaves (c. 4-6 cm long), a more compact pseudumbel and smaller (c. 3-4 mm diem.) hirtellous fruits.
Syntypes: Kashmir, Pir Panjal Range, Jacquemont 482 (P); Baltistan, Skardu, Hugel 956, 1067 (W).
Distribution: Endemic.
No recent gatherings of this taxon have been seen, and no information is avail-able on ecology and flowering/fruiting times. It is possible that Kauls’ erroneous record of the Euphorbia Himalayan species Euphorbia griffithii Hook. f. for the Banihal Pass, Kashmir South, is referable to this taxon, on account of the reddish colour of the leaves (Stewart, l.c. 1972).
