Small glabrous herb. Stem with a woody base, many, simple, 5-20 (-30) procumbent. Leaves subsecund, greyish-green, 4-5 x 1-2 mm, elliptic to obovate, acute, base alternate, midrib prominent underneath. Inflorescence lax. Pedi slender, about as long as the sepals. Sepals 3-4 mm, oblong-linear, obtuse, keeled on the outside, green with scarious margins. Petals as long as the sepals. Styles recurved. Capsule c. 3 mm. Seeds few, less than 1 mm, sometimes flattened on side, reddish-brown, ± granulate.

Type: Described from Crete, Anatolia, Iran & Talysch (G-Boiss.).
Distribution: Greece, Crete, Cyprus, Syria, Turkey, N. W. Iran, Causcasus, Pakistan.
A rare species in Pakistan, confined to the western areas.
