Plant with slender stems up to 50 cm tall and a slender branched woody stock. Stem erect, simple, glabrous. Leaves radical, 2-3 pairs on the following stems, 15-50 x 1.5-2 mm, narrowly linear, apex acute, margins ciliate. Bracts similar to cauline leaves but reduced in size. Inflorescence racemose. Calyx 8-10 mm, campanulate, glabrous; teeth triangular, obtuse, with a hyaline ciliate margin. Petal yellowish to brown, limb c. 3 mm, ½ divided into linear lobes. claw c. 6 mm, ciliate at base, exauriculate. Coronal scales oblong. Carpophore c. 3.5 mm, pubescent. Capsule ovoid, included in the calyx. Seeds ± 0.8 mm long, reniform, dark brown, minutely tubercled on the back.

Type: Described from USSR.

In Pakistan found in Baltistan, Deosai, Chitral, Gilgit and Kaghan. From specimens examined it seems that the inflorescence is secund. On rocks crevices.
