Silene aucheriana sensu E. Nasir
Gynodioecious perennial with a slender woody stock. Stems many, up To 40 cm, usually erect, pubescent. Leaves 10-30 x 1-1.5 mm, linear, in spurious whorls at the nodes, pubescent. Bracts 4-6 mm, lanceolate, pubescent. Inflorescence a lax panicle, the lateral branches with solitary or 3-flowered in a dichasium. Calyx of hermaphrodite flower 12-13 mm, of female flower 9.5-10 mm, cylincrical, clavate in fruit, glandular, pubescent; teeth ovate, obtuse, with a ciliate hyaline margin, nerves greenish. Petals yellowish-green, limb c. 5 mm, c. ½ divided; claw 7-8 mm, not auriculate. Coronal scales oblong. Cupophore c. 6 mm in hermaphrodite flowers, c. 4 mm in female flowers, pubescent. Capsule 7-10 mm, ovoid, included in the calyx. Seeds c. 1 mm broad, reniform, bluntly to black.

Recognised by the presence of young foliage fascicles in the axils of leaves. Found in waste ground or stony places up to 2200 m.
