Annual - biennial, glabrous, green, 15-50 cm high herb. Stem branched densely from base or middle, stiff. Basal leaves 0.5-2.0 x 0.25-0.75 cm, elliptic-lanceolate, ovate, acute-acuminate, entire. Cauline leaves 0.4-13 x 0.2-0.6 cm, ovate-lanceolate, acute. Inflorescence 4-6 cm long, many flowered stiff cyme. Flowers 8-15 mm long, pedicellate. Calyx tubular, tube smaller than lobes, 6-8 mm long, lobes 2-4 x 1-2 mm, lanceolate, acuminate. Corolla tubular - infundibular, 10-14 mm long; tube 5-10 mm long; lobes 2-5 x 1-2 mm; lanceolate-ovate, obtuse. Stamens 5, filament inserted in ± middle of corolla tube or above; anthers basifixed. Ovary 6-8 x 2-4 mm, lanceolate-ovate. Capsule 8-12 x 2.5-5.0 mm. Seeds numerous, reticulate, minute.
