Potentilla sericea var. agrimonioides (M. Bieb.) Boiss.
Perennial herbs. Rootstock thick and divided Stem 10-20 cm. long, sparsely tomentose and with long pilose hairs. Leaves 3-5 pinnate, 4-10 cm. long at the base, petioles with 3-4 mm. dense spreading glandulose hairs. Basal stipules ferrugineus, auricles linear-lanceolate, upper stipules leafy and oblong-lanceolate. Leaflets obovate, 1-2 cm. long, deeply dessected nearly to the midrib, segments revolute and obtuse, upper surface adpressed pilose and glandulose, green, lower surface greyish tomentose with glands underneath. Flowers 2-6, terminal, 1-1.5 cm. diam., yellow. Calyces tomentose and pilose with large pale yellow glands, outer sepals ovate-lanceolate, obtuse shorter than the ovate and acute inner sepals. Petals c. 5 mm. long. Stamens about 25. Carpels numerous, glandulose, styles subterminal, c. 1 mm. long, thickend below.

Distribution: Russia (Caucasus), Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Kashmir.
Potentilla x agrimonioides is considered to be a stabilised hybrid species between Potentilla sericea x Potentilla pensylvanica. The species is fairly common in northern Pakistan and upper Kashmir Valley between 4,000 and 5,500 m. It is generally found in dry scree and stony places in alpine pastures.
