Perennial herb; rhizome horizontal to erect, more or less stout, bearing stems and leaves at apex. Stem up to 15 cm, ascending to erect. Leaves 1-2.5 cm long, 0.9-2.8 cm broad, broadly ovat, cordate-ovate or rarely cordate-reniform, cordate at base, acute or rarely obtuse at apex, depressed crenate on margin, glabrous or sparsely pubescent on both surfaces, herbaceous to chartaceous; petioles 1-10 cm long, slender. Stipules 5-10 mm long, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, acuminate at apex fimbria, te-laciniate on margin, glabrous, free. Flowers 1.5-2.5 cm across, light purple; peduncles 4-11 cm long, slender exceeding leaves. Sepals 3-6 mm long 0.8-1.2 mm broad lanceolate, acute at apex, entire, glabrous; appendages 0.5-1 mm long, rounded or squarish, glabrous. Petals obovate, c. 6 mm broad, basal longes, rounded at apex, the laterals beardless; spurs (3)-4-7 mm long, yellowish green, much exceeding calycine appendages, cylindrical, obtuse. Styles 3 mm long, slightly geniculate at base, filiform, apex gently hooked, stigmatic openning terminal. Capsules 5-7 mm long, ellipsoid, glabrous. Seeds ovoid, c. 1.2 mm long. Chromosome number: n = 10.
