YASIN J. NASIR
Annual medium-sized herbs. Leaves narrow. Pedicels long, usually thickened. Calyx divided to the base, somewhat enlarging in fruit. Corolla small, 5-lobed. Throat appendages present. Style short, stigma capitate. Nutlets attached to a gynobase throughout their length and not detachable. Gynobase columnar. Nutlets 4, usually unequal, compressed, margin winged or not-if winged the dorsal middle area smooth; appendages glochidiate. Closely related to Lappula Gilib. and sometimes united with it.
6 species distributed from S. Russia & Turkey to C. Asia and Himalaya. Represented in Pakistan by 3 species.
