Allium jacquemontii* Regel
Plants 15-35 cm tall. Bulbs ovoid, 4-6 cm long, tufted, coats reddish brown with reticulate fibres. Leaves 4-6, linear, c. 1 mm broad, acute, not fistular. Umbels globose, densely flowered. Spathe scarious. Pedicels about as long as the flowers. Tepals pink to purple, c. 6 mm long, lanceolate to oblong, acute to obtuse. Filaments exserted, connate at the base, inner 2-dentate, outer entire. Style exserted. Stigma capitate.
Type: Described from Tibet from specimen collected by Dr. Stoliczka.
Distribution: Himalayas and Karakorum.
Used as a vegetable in Ladak.
