Perennial, glaucous green; base shrubby; branches many from the base. Lower leaves linear to lanceolate, up to 10 cm long, veins 5-7, bases narrow, apices long acute; upper leaves shorter, linear. Involucral bracts linear, 3-5, minute, apices acute. Rays 3-6, unequal, 1-3 cm long. Involucel of 5 linear to lanceolate bractlets, 2 mm long; ridges thin; furrows 3-vittate.
Type: “in argillosis montium circa Badalan distr. Khoi, prov. Azerbaijan. Persiae legit Szowits”.
Distribution: Middle East to Afghanistan, Central Asia, India, W. Pakistan.
