Allium consanguineum Kunth, Enum. 4:431. 1843. Hook.f.,F1.Brit. Ind.6:340. 1892, including Allium stracheyi Baker in Jr. Bot. 293.1874.
Plants up to 35 cm tall. Bulbs cylindrical to ovoid; outer coats coriaceous, brown, striate. Leaves 3-5, linear, flattened, not fistular, apex obtuse; leaf bases sheathing, glabrous; sheath about 1/4 the length of the scape. Umbels hemispherical, dense flowered. Pedicels shorter, as long as or longer than the flowers. Tepals 5-6 mm long, oblong, acute to obtuse, yellow or pink. Filaments exserted, entire, linear with broad bases. Style as long as or longer than the filaments.

Distribution: Himalayas in India and Pakistan.
A variable species.
