Erect stout plant, c. 35 cm tall. Stem green-yellow, glandular and white patent-villous. Leaves shortly petiolate, 18-32 x 6-9 mm, oblong-lanceolate, entire, subacute, base tapering, white-hairy, gland dotted. (Leaves present and crowded at the lower portion of the stems). Inflorescence of large, yellow pedicellate flowers; bracts linear. Pedicels and peduncles villous when young. Sepals ± 1.5 mm, ovate-oblong, densely white villous, ciliate, persistant. Petals 7-9 mm, broadly ovate, obtuse, clawed, glandular. Filaments free, 4-5 mm, barbate at the point of the expanded portion. Ovary 5-locular, prominently glandular, each locule 5-10 ovulate; segments with horny tuberculate tips; style c. 3 mm. Capsule 4-5 mm broad, glandular.

Lectotype: Between Sebsewar and Hishapur, Bunge s.n. (G); isolectotype (K).
Distribution: S.E. Iran, W. Baluchistan.
Found in sandy and clayey places ± 1700 m in W. Baluchistan. The sepals, pedicels and peduncles of the plant are densely hairy when young, becoming sparse as the plant matures.
