Erect succulent herb, 15-45 cm tall, branches subterete, 4-grooved. Leaves (when present) 6-13 mm long, linear, acute. Flowers in pairs in axils of scale-likes bracts. Pedicels 3.5-13 mm long. Sepals 5, c. 2.5 mm, glabrous, ovate, acute. Corolla campanulate, purple inside, c. 6-7 mm long, lobes ovate-lanceolate, acute; outer corona 5-lobed, each lobe with 2 teeth; lobes of inner corona c. 1 mm long, linear. Pollinium 1 in each anther cell. Follicles 8.5-11 cm long.

Distribution: India (Punjab); Pakistan (Sind, Punjab, Baluchistan).
The plant is eaten as vegetable.
