Distribution: Chitral, Swat and Kashmir.

The subspecies appears to be undercollected in Kashmir where it is represented by only 2 specimens as cited above. Related to Androsace mariae Kanitz, from which it differs in the indument and more thick and rigidly ciliate leaves (fide Handel-Mazzetti, 1927, p. 288).
