Ficus colchica Grossh.Ficus hyrcana Grossh.
A robust shrub to small tree. Leaves suborbicular, usually broader than long to ± as long as broad, ± deeply 3(-5)-lobed, sinuses widened inwards, lobes usually spathulate, apically entire to dentate. Figs mostly pyriform, subsessile shortly stipitate, glabrescent to minutely hairy.
Fl. & Fr. Per.: April-December.
Distribution: Throughout the range of species.
The mature sugary fruit is dried, preserved and eaten. It is nutrient, demulcent and laxative and is often used as cure of constipation, especially children.
