Perennial. Stems erect to decumbent, 20-40 cm tall, dense appressedly hairy Cauline leaves variable in shape from linear-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate ovate. Nutlets c. 2x1.5 mm, outer face plane or slightly convave, inner pubescent to rugose, appendages of margin irregular c. 1 mm long, their bases united.

Type: Lippa and Pangee in Kunawar, Kherang Pass, R. Inglis s.n. (K).
Distribution: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, W. Tibet.
Common in the drier northern parts of the country from 2400-4300 m. Variable in the shape and size of leaves and degree of villosity of the plant parts.
