Eritrichium patens Decne.
An erect perennial. Stems densely pubescent. Cauline leaves linear, 10-15 x c. 1.5 mm. Nutlets 1.5 x 1 mm, outer face convex or ± rugose, inner glabrous, appendages 0.2 x 0.1 mm, bases not united.
Fl. Per.: May-June.
Type: D’Regui ad Thini, July 14, 1830, Jacquemont 1316 (P, isotype GH).
Distribution: Pakistan, Kashmir, W. Tibet.
Usually found in dry stony areas from 2700-4000 m. Resembling var. fruticulosum from which it differs in the erect habit and sessile densely hairy cauline leaves. The fruit is also slightly smaller.
