Arenaria serpyllifolia var. leptoclados Reichb.
Similar to Arenaria serpyllifolia but leaves obovate to spathulate, especially lower ones, usually mucronulate; sepals 2.5-3 mm. lanceolate, exceeding capsule, the calyx gradually narrowing above, not thickened at the base or the back and flask-shaped. Seeds apparently without prominent tubercles.

Type: Described from Sicily.
Distribution: Central Europe and Asia, Turkey, China and N.W. Africa.
A variable species, sympatric in distribution to Arenaria serpyllifolia in and approaching it in intermediate forms. 2n = 20.
