Plants suffruticose; stems to 1m tall, erect, striate, crisp pilose, branching apically. Leaves opposite, rigid, lower smaller, median large, short-petiolate, ovate to ovate-oblong, 5-10×2-3.3 cm, apex long-acuminate, base rounded to subtruncate, margins obscurely mucronulate-serrate, upper surface green, lower surface pale and glandular punctate and sparsely pilose along nerves, 3-nerved; petiole 4-12 mm long. Inflorescence slightly laxly corymbose; involucre broadly tubular, 5-6 mm long, florets 9-15, bracts 12-15, 2- or 3-seriate, apex obtuse, outer ones much shorter, sparsely glandular pilose without. Achenes cylindric, black, 2.5 mm long, sparsely pilose. Pappus scanty, 4.5-5 mm long.

Endemic; mainly in eastern Taiwan, fl. Jul-Mar.

Very similar to E. clematideum, but differing in the lower surface of the leaves glandular dotted and in the 9-15 flowered heads.
