Perennial stoloniferous herbs. Flowering stems 8-25 mm tall, densely white lanate. Leaves mainly basal, rosulate, persistent at anthesis and throughout winter, linear to narrowly elliptic, 2-7×0.2-0.5 mm, lower surface densely tomentose, upper surface glabrous or sparsely villous; cauline leaves fewer, remote, linear, 1-4.5 cm long, ca. 2 mm wide, otherwise as basal ones. Heads several in a terminal, subcapitate cyme; subtending leaves 3-6, 0.5-2×0.2 mm. Involucre campanulate, 5×4-5 mm, bracts scarious, obtuse, brownish purple, 3-seriate, outer ones shorter, broadly elliptic, inner ones narrowly oblong. Corolla of outer florets 3.5 mm long; corolla of central florets ca. 3.5 mm long. Achenes oblong, ca. 1 mm long. Pappus white, ca. 3 mm long. Chromosome number, 2n = 28 (Peng & Hsu, 1978).
