Conyza pyrifolia Lam.
Perennial scandent subshrub. Stems woody, branched, 0.7-2.5 m or more tall, obviously striate, sparsely pubescent, later glabrous. Leaves alternate, ovate to elliptic, apex acuminate, base obtuse, obscurely and irregularly serrate, nearly entire, 5-10×1.5-4 cm, petiole 7-15 mm long, venation pinnate; upper surface dark green, scarcely pubescent, nearly glabrous; lower surface loosely pubescent, glandular punctate. Heads 5-7 mm long, 3-5 mm across, numerous, congested in terminal corymbs, sometimes axillary; peduncle slender, 2-10 mm long. Involucre campanulate, bracts in 4 or 5 series, scarious, midrib green or greenish brown, margins scarious, outer bracts shorter, 1-2 mm long, lanceolate, obtuse, apex fringed, scarcely pubescent, middle bracts 3 mm long, lanceolate, acute, glabrous, inner bracts larger, linear-lanceolate, 5 mm long, glabrous. Receptacle slightly convex. Outer florets numerous, corolla filiform, 3-4 mm long, ligule bifid, style surpassing ligule. Disc florets 2-5, bisexual, corolla narrowly tubular, 4-5 mm long, 5-lobed. Achenes oblong-elliptic, compressed, ca. 1 mm long, 4 or 5 ribbed, minutely pubescent, pale brown. Pappus persistent, slightly brownish white, bristles numerous, subequal, slender, 3-4.5 mm long. Flowering year round in Taiwan.
