Solidago chinensis Osbeck
Stems prostrate with ascending tips, elongate, rooting from lower nodes, appressed pilose. Leaves chartaceous, linear-oblong to lanceolate, 2-10 cm long, 6-20 mm wide, apex acute, base narrowed, margins sparsely mucronulate-serrulate, sessile or short petiolate, appressed pilose on both surfaces. Heads 2-2.5 cm across, solitary on erect branches, peduncle 6-12 cm long; involucre hemispheric, 8-9 mm long, bracts 5, nearly equal in length, in 1 series, oblong, acute or sometimes obtuse, short appressed pubescent. Ray florets in 1 series, yellow, corolla 9-11×3-3.5 mm, 2- to 3-dentate. Disc corolla 4-4.5 mm long, 5-lobed. Achenes obovoid, 3.5 mm×1.5-2 mm, coarsely hairy at tip. Pappus vase-or cup-shaped.

India, southeast Asia, Japan and China. Taiwan, on paddy ridges, in grassy fields and moist lowland depressions in the north, also common in littoral areas.
