Plants glabrescent; stems erect, striate. Leaves long petiolate, oblong to elliptic, 6-12 mm long, margins irregularly toothed or pinnatifid, segments 6-8 pairs, lanceolate, acuminate, dentate. Inflorescence paniculate. Heads many, erect or nodding. Involucre ca. 7 mm long, bracts linear. Florets yellowish purple, tips of pappus bristles pale rose-purple. Achens narrowly cylindric, 2-2.5 mm long, distinctly 10-12-ribbed, puberulous, strawberry colored. Pappus white, tinged purplish, bristles copious.
