Plants suffruticose; stems slender, crisp-puberulous at tip, branching, branches slender, flexuous, divaricate. Lower leaves smaller; median cauline leaves opposite, thin, short-petiolate, oblong to oblong-ovate, 6-9 cm×2.5-3.5 cm, apex long acuminate, base rounded or subtruncate, margins obscurely mucronulate-serrate, upper surface glabrous, lower surface glabrate or sparsely pilose, not glandular, 3-nerved; petiole 4-10 mm long. Inflorescence of lax corymbs; involucres cylindric, 6 mm long, 5-flowered, bracts 10-12, 2-seriate, subacute, outer ones much shorter. Achenes cylindric, 2.5 mm long, glabrous. Pappus 3-4 mm long. Chromosome number, 2n = 20 (Peng & Hsu, 1978).

Nepal and Taiwan. Widespread from low elevations to ca. 1,000 m on mountain slopes.
