Shrubs or undershrubs. Leaf trifoliolate, stipules persistent. Inflorescence racemose or paniculate. Bract small, 1-flowered; bracteoles 2, deciduous. Calyx gamosepalous, upper 2 teeth ± connate. Corola papilionaceous, keel very acute, curved mostly at right angle. Stamens diadelphous, 9+1, anthers uniform. Ovary shortly spitate, uniovulate. Fruit biconvex, 1-seeded, indehiscent, mucronate.
A genus with about 65-70 species, mostly confined to Yunnan and Szechuan in China, is represented in Pakistan by 3 species.
