    Perennial. Stem 20-90 cm, unbranched, rarely branched at the very, cylindrical, glabrous, Basal leaves 5-30 x 0.5-3 cm, narrowly ovateulate to oblong-spathulate or obovate, acute or obtuse, 3-7(-9)-nerved. Cauline leaves 1-3 pairs, 2-16 x 0.5-3 cm, opposite connate, narrowly ovate-spathulate to obovate, obtuse or acute, 3-7-nerved, Inflorescence paniculate. lobes 3-7 x 1-2 mm, narrowly ovate to ovate, acute. Corolla bluish to pale green, tube 0.5-1 mm, lobes 8-16 x 1-2.5 mm, ovate to elliptic-acute or obtuse or erose. Gland one per lobe, saccate fimbriate, pocket-shaped, rarely with a few or sometimes with no fimbriae in flowers, sometimes reniform or bilobed. Filaments 5-10 mm, filiform, squamellate at the base or not, anthers ovate-apiculate or obtuse. Ovary 6-10 long, stigmas sub-orbicular, sessile. Capsule 8-12 mm long. Seeds corrugate, cristate.
