Brassiceae

Lateral nectar glands cubical or subprismatic, apex truncate, sometimes sub-bilobed or orbicular; middle glands often long, subglobose or stalk-like, rarely abortive. Hairs simple or absent. Stamen filaments very rarely appendaged (Crambe). Stigma capitate or bilobed, rarely with long decurrent lobes. Fruit generally a siliqua, usually with a distinct closed beak containing one or more seeds, usually ± bi-articulated with upper and lower parts dissimilar, indehiscent or dehiscent, very variable; cotyledons generally longitudinally folded (conduplicate) or bent round the incumbent or accumbent radicle.

It is represented by 15 genera and 27 species in our area.
